Pipeline Architecture and Setup
The pipeline architecture was designed before any data moved. Dataset structure was reviewed, enrichment requirements defined, API connectivity to third-party sources established, and the full pipeline built before large-scale extraction began.
Large-Scale Web Scraping
Tens of thousands of records were extracted automatically with no manual collection required. The pipeline pulled community tab data including top contributing cities and percentage breakdowns at scale across the full crowdfunding dataset.
Demographic Data Enrichment
City-level demographic data became a standard field across the dataset, not an optional enrichment. For every U.S.-based city identified, corresponding racial distribution index data was retrieved and joined to the project record.
Ethnicity Estimation and QA
Every name record was cleaned before it touched the API, and every result was validated before it entered the final file. Batch calls ran across the full dataset, and predicted ethnicity fields were checked for consistency and completeness before inclusion.
Final Dataset Delivery
The research team received a single, publication-ready file. All extracted, enriched, and estimated data was consolidated in the client's preferred format, delivered with a data dictionary and pipeline documentation to support replication and academic citation.
